• Restore natural meibum flow
• Improve pathology management
• Increase gland functionality

IPL system for dry eye

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology is a treatment for dry eyes associated with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) or tear glands, as well as inflammatory lesions (rosacea and blepharitis).

C.STIM is an intense pulsed light (IPL) system that, thanks to its technical characteristics, constitutes a safe, painless, effective and long-lasting therapeutic solution for most skin types.

This treatment is based on a series of light pulses applied to the cheek.

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is an eye condition that occurs when the cornea (the clear, dome-shaped front part of the eye) becomes thinner and bulges out progressively into a cone shape.

A cone-shaped cornea causes blurred vision and can lead to sensitivity to light and glare. Keratoconus usually affects both eyes. However, it may affect one eye more than the other. It usually begins to affect people in their late teens to early 30s. The condition may progress slowly over 10 years or more.

Symptoms of keratoconus may change as the disease progresses and include:

• Blurred or distorted vision
• Increased sensitivity to bright light and glare, which can cause problems driving at night
• Need for frequent changes to your eyeglass prescription
• Sudden worsening or blurred vision

How does it work?

Treatment with our KXL AVEDRO equipment, with the crosslinking procedure, which uses radiation ultraviolet - in conjunction with a vitamin B2 solution - to strengthen the cornea and prevent, delay or reduce its deformation progressive. The UVA light used is not harmful to the human eye, since it has a low power level.

The combination of exposure to ultraviolet light and riboflavin drops produces a photochemical reaction that encourages the thickening of collagen fibers and increases the number of bonds formed between them. As a result, the structure of the cornea is strengthened and is less prone to alterations.
